I don't think anyone will leave this film dying for a plate of spaghetti.
A well written thriller that comes in near the top on the list of serial
killer cinema. Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman wander around
through the dark and dank holes and holds of a grotesque municipal
nightmare trying to piece together the clues the killer deliberately left
behind. A real bit of nasty when it becomes obvious that the killer is
not only considerably intelligent, but enlightened in a topsy-turvy
kind of way. He sees it all so clearly (and it does make sense, if you
look at it from his point of view.)
Not only is the film a beautiful piece of work, but the main title
sequence is like the cherry on the cake. Glutton for punishment?
A DON'T MISS, if you don't mind.
Of course, there are those among
you who might feel your skin crawling.
